Interview with SCR CEO Rémy Estran-Fraioli in Responsible Investor: Pricing in climate risk
Responsible Investor published an interview with Rémy Estran-Fraioli, CEO of Scientific Climate Ratings (SCR), highlighting the need for a systematic analysis of financial risks associated with climate change, and how SCR aims to break the mould when it comes to climate risk assessments for investors.
In the interview, Rémy Estran-Fraioli outlined why traditional ESG ratings and climate “stress tests” fall short when it comes to measuring the financial materiality of climate risks. He explained how SCR aims to “break the mould”, by delivering science-based, forward-looking climate risk ratings that help investors price in both physical and transition risks.
Rémy Estran-Fraioli commented:
“Our goal with our Scientific Climate Ratings is to translate climate
science into forward-looking, decision-useful ratings that quantify financial
materiality. We’re not just flagging risks – we’re estimating how much they
could cost over time, under different scenarios, with transparency and
rigour for investors, corporates and public authorities.”
