Camille ANGUE is Deputy Director of EDHEC Climate Institute in charge of outreach. She joined EDHEC in 2024 after a career in finance and public administration in France and abroad. After working for JP Morgan and KPMG Transaction Services, Camille joined the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in France, where she specialized in international economic issues and support for international business development prior to becoming Chief of Staff of the French Minister for Europe. Most recently, she was Deputy Director General of Services for the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis in charge of public economic policies for four years. She is a graduate of HEC Paris in 2008 (Grande Ecole) and holds a Master 2 degree in international business law from the University of Paris V Descartes in 2009.
Rob ARNOLD, PHD is Sustainability Research Director at EDHEC Climate Institute, leading the creation of a new body of knowledge on climate alignment and resilience, initially focused on infrastructure. As an energy and environment specialist with extensive experience across industry, business and international organisations, over two decades, he advised the UK government, including the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Department of Energy and Climate Change, and the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on energy and climate policy. He led cross-disciplinary teams in technical analysis, business strategy, and sustainability assessment of new technology and measures to decarbonise energy, infrastructure, industry, transport and land use. He also co-chaired a multinational expert team for a strand of the EU’s Strategic Energy Technology Plan and helped establish the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund for industry-focused sustainable decarbonisation projects. Rob holds a PhD in energy and environment from Imperial College London, an MSc in environmental technology from Imperial College London, a BSc (Hons.) in chemistry from the University of Manchester. He is also a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Lionel MELIN, PhD is Associate Researcher at EDHEC Climate Institute. He works with the “Climate Scenarios” research team, focusing on the implementation of a novel Dynamic Integrated Climate-Economy (DICE) model. He is the CEO of MacroLucid Research, an independent economic consulting firm specialising in ESG finance. He began his financial career as an emerging markets economist and fixed income strategist for Deutsche Bank and later as a senior cross-asset strategist for Société Générale Lyxor Asset Management. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago and a Master’s degree in statistics from the ENSAE in Paris. While a doctoral student, Lionel conducted research projects with the Federal Reserve of Chicago, the International Monetary Fund, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and BNP Paribas. He has held lectureships at the University of Chicago and has co-authored many academic papers published in the Journal of Impact and ESG Investing, Journal of Asset Management and Journal of Portfolio Management.
About Nicolas Schneider, PhD
Nicolas SCHNEIDER, PhD is Senior Research Engineer - Macroeconomist at EDHEC Climate Institute, expanding the Institute’s capabilities in spatial climate econometrics to project the impact of climate change on the economy with greater granularity. He previously consulted for New York City Mayor’s Office of Climate and served as a fellow in the Program on Coupled Human and Earth Systems funded under the US Department of Energy. Nicolas holds a PhD from the Geography and Environment Department of Boston University, where his research used high-performance computing systems to conduct large-scale processing of high-resolution time and spatially-downscaled global climate model simulations. He holds an MSc in environmental economics and climate change (London School of Economics) and political science and an MSc in development economics and applied econometrics (Paris-Pantheon Sorbonne University). He has co-authored over a dozen peer-reviewed articles and taught in the Department of General Education at Harvard University and in the Quantitative Methods Seminar of the Oxford Smith School.
About Fangyuan Zhang, PhD
Fangyuan ZHANG, PhD is a Senior Research Engineer at EDHEC Climate Institute where she contributes to the research programme on climate scenarios, seeking to understand and apply them while addressing their uncertainties. Fangyuan was previously a postdoctoral researcher for the Data Science Department at EURECOM, where she worked on the interdisciplinary research between economics and machine learning. She holds a PhD in economics, an MSc in finance and insurance from the University of Ulm in Germany and also Master’s and bachelor's degrees in economics from Fudan University in China. She has published academic research on pension systems and portfolio optimisation and is a recipient of the Chris Daykin Prize (2023), the best paper award presented by the International Actuarial Association.
About Bertrand Jayles, PhD
Bertrand JAYLES, PhD is Senior Sustainability Data Scientist at EDHEC Climate Institute and focuses on climate risks and scenario analysis. Before joining EDHEC, Bertrand worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. He then moved to Singapore when he joined Nanyang Technological University as a Research fellow. He holds a Master’s degree in theoretical physics from Aix-Marseille University and a PhD degree from the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Toulouse, where he specialized in social physics, a field of study at the interface of theoretical physics, behavioural economics, and social psychology. His research interests include collective behaviour, social influence, collective intelligence, social resilience, and complex networks.
Fabien NUGIER, PhD is a member of the EDHEC Climate Institute team in Singapore, working as a researcher and developer with more than 10 years of experience in academic studies and the financial industry. After he transitioned from academics into finance, he served as a Quantitative Researcher & Developer at ADIA on investment analysis and data science tools. He leads transition risk research through the production of metrics and data tools involving carbon footprints and geospatial and traffic analysis. He holds a Master's degree in theoretical physics from the École Normale Supérieure and a PhD in cosmology from the University Pierre et Marie Curie (now Sorbonne Université), in Paris. His expertise covers several fields in theoretical physics studies, astrophysical simulations and quantitative analysis.
About Jeanette Orminski, PhD
Jeanette ORMINSKI, PhD is Senior Sustainability and ESG Researcher at EDHEC Climate Institute based in Singapore. Jeanette focuses on the Green Infrastructure project and on social acceptability risk and social media. Prior to joining EDHEC, she worked as a Data Scientist at the Munich Science Communication Lab analysing the topic of Planetary Health. She received her PhD degree from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in communication science, focusing on the sustainability discourse on Twitter. Her research focuses not only on the environmental and governmental sustainability but also the social pillar in climate change discourses and future risk analyses.
Qinyu GOH is a Sustainability Data Scientist at the EDHEC Climate Institute. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in applied urban science and informatics from New York University (2019) and a Bachelor of Science in real estate with a Minor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the National University of Singapore (2018). As a Sustainability Data Scientist, Qinyu is passionate about leveraging data-driven approaches to address urban challenges and promote sustainability in infrastructure development. She specializes in quantifying physical risks and their financial impacts on infrastructure projects worldwide, using her technical skills in Python and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Conor HUBERT is Sustainability Research Engineer at the EDHEC Climate Institute, helping to build the science and engineering evidence to understand infrastructure's sustainability risks. He develops engineering-based research and analysis into the physical and financial risks in infrastructure that arise from its carbon emissions, environmental impacts and vulnerability to changing climate. Conor was previously Sustainability Consultant at BuroHappold Engineering, where he worked on several city and district-level masterplans creating sustainability strategies to serve the development in a sustainable and people-centric way, whilst considering phasing and cost planning. Conor holds an MEng in civil engineering from the University of Bristol.
Thomas LORANS is Senior Research Engineer at EDHEC Climate Institute. He was previously Deputy Head of ESG and Climate Research at Scientific Portfolio, an EDHEC Venture. With eight years of experience as a quantitative ESG researcher, he has worked for organizations such as the London Stock Exchange Group, Wilshire Indexes, and Scientific Beta. He holds an MSc in applied economics from ENSAE.
Thomas is the co-author of "Beyond Carbon Price: A Scenario-Based Quantification of Portfolio Financial Loss from Climate Transition Risks", published in collaboration with Scientific Portfolio, an EDHEC joint venture. He also authored a two-part study in the FTSE Working Paper Series on assessing climate change risks for sovereign bonds. Additionally, he has delivered two editions of the course "Climate Risks in Python" at the Clermont School of Business.
Julien PRIOL is a Junior ESG Researcher at EDHEC Climate Institute. Prior to joining EDHEC, Julien was a quantitative climate and financial risk analyst intern at Caisse des Dépôts, where he developed a Merton-type credit risk model related to transition risks (e.g. carbon tax). He then spent two years at Scientific Portfolio (an EDHEC venture), working on climate research applied to equity portfolio management. He holds a Master’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Paris-Sorbonne, as well as a specialized Master’s in applied mathematics for finance from CentraleSupélec, where he focused on the quantification of physical and transition related climate risks.
Maud GAUCHON is Marketing & Communications Manager at the EDHEC Climate Institute. She oversees communication strategies and research dissemination to maximise the Institute’s impact within the financial industry as a seasoned marketing professional with over 18 years of experience. Her expertise spans media relations, digital marketing, content strategy, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement. She joined EDHEC in 2007 as Coordinator of the PhD in Finance Program. She holds a Master’s degree in management from SKEMA Business School and dual undergraduate degrees in business administration and foreign languages from Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University.
About David Labeurthre, PhD
David LABEURTHRE, PhD, is a Senior Quantitative Researcher specializing in the development of quantitative models applied to climate finance. Previously, he was a Senior Quantitative Researcher at EthiFinance, working on credit rating methodologies, climate data downscaling, the impact of decarbonization on financial performance. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics under joint supervision between CEA Saclay and the University of Grenoble Alpes, and has conducted extensive research in quantitative modeling.
